Our 1st year long artist residency
The beginning of the year is always a good time to reflect on the bounty that our community provides. I’m fortunate to be a part of the Schuylkill Nature Center where my daughter attends school. There is a parents group called Gathering Space that I meet with regularly, and this snowy Monday I brought our Chai Masala to share. Our guide Annie Keil describes: “We talked about tea, nature and space with its relationship to form, time, place and dimension.” These themes resonate with the ethos of our Random Tea Room and I feel so grateful to be involved with such inspiring communities.
I’m looking forward to seeing you at one of our events or just a random stop at our sweet shop in Northern Liberties.

Valentines with Herbs & Crafts
Sow your Winter Garden with a DIY Mini Greenhouse
Saturday February 11th 1-4pm
Show the pollinators some love this February during the 1st ever
Herbs & Crafts workshop at The Random Tea Room.
Our resident artist Anastasia Alexandrin will be demonstrating how she sows her winter garden using up-cycled materials.
In addition to creating the stunning imagery that is gracing the walls of our tea room through September 2023, Anastasia is fluent in flower speak and seems to have them springing up all around her. *We met in a garden so those are my memories speaking :-)
Start saving your empty salad containers, at least 3” tall are best. There will be some available but supplies are limited.
If you have a collection of empty / clean salad containers that you’d like to donate for this project please let me know, we are also accepting donations of native seeds.
Ticket price includes containers, soil, seeds, and custom cut vinyl decals.
There are a limited number of tickets available for this event. Please plan to book yours in advance.
Herbs & Crafts is a series of interactive workshops where we explore, experiment and produce finished products which combine the bountiful goodness of tea and herbals with the refinement and artistry of a crafters touch.
