The Possibili-TEA's of Native Plants
The Possibili-TEA's of Native Plants
What’s good for our ecosystem is also good for us in so many different ways!
Guided by this obvious yet too-frequently neglected premise, these workshops will be an overview into the beauty and importance of working with native plants. We’ll get to know a handful of safe and delicious herbs by tasting them and exploring their dual roles in the external environment and within our bodies. As a bonus, all participants will leave with some seeds, fostering a continued connection with the plants introduced in this workshop.
Goda is the RTR Artist in residence and is excited to be delving into this subject because it highlights connections between her interests in beauty, native flora, and community health. Alongside being a practicing artist, she has been working with native plants in various ways since 2017 - she has propagated them, sold them retail, installed and tended native landscapes, and is currently working in native plant seed production. During this same time period she has also been studying herbalism, refining medicine making skills alongside friends, and participating in herb-centered mutual aid networks.
Proceeds from the Possibili-Teas of Native Plants workshops held in collaboration with Goda and the Random Tea Room are being donated to the Lenapehoking Reestablishment Project.
